Personally I am a big fan of the game, even if the controls are a little screwed up. Always feel disappointed that the story was never able to continue.

Was my first full hands on experience working on a Tomb Raider title. Was a real ambitious title, but never hit the heights unfortunately

I love it, I mean some of the game-play is horrendous but, you can see a lot of thought went into it.

I love it. If not just for Janice and her street walking charms.

^ She's so much fun . I kind of like that about Angel of Darkness. That you could talk to a few people to find out titbits of information which you can't do in any of the others

Yeah, I like the different options of dialogue, even if they have no actual impact on the overall out come.

They do kind of though. If you're a bitch to Margot then you have to get Werner's notebook by yourself (whilst cheekily stealing a bottle of wine to be pawned off later ) and if you're a bitch to Bouchard then he shoots you

Yeah, both of those dramatically change the direction of the game. I'll let you have those.

Well considering one kills you it does change it somewhat. Don't take that tone with me

The game was far too ambitious, which ended up being its downfall, but you can appreciate what they were able to create with the time scale they had. Even to this day, it would still be an overwhelming project. I personally love the dark storyline and I'd love to see future titles be as grim.

^ My thoughts exactly! Loved the game, but in hindsight, they just wanted to do way too much with it!

The promotion for AOD was amazing. No matter how much time they had though (and they had enough) they would never have perfected it, they tried to take too much on and didn't quite understand the technology they were working with. As much as I want it, I can guarantee Core's Anniversary edition would have turned out the same way seeing as it was the AOD team making it.

I love the Angel of Darkness. It's hard to believe it's been nearly ten years since it came out.

I know. Keith you need to bring your AOD walkthrough over to here and complete it.

I do love aspects of the game - some of the level environments were really beautiful, and I particularly like the Louvre/Hall of Seasons level arc.
However, controlling Lara is a task in itself. I really want to go back and play it, but with the fluid controls that were introduced in Crystals games, I get too frustrated!

I've picked it up a few times recently to have a nostalgia filled play through, but the controls annoyed me so much I never got past the first section!

I've never experienced any game breaking glitches and I have had multiple copies of the ps2 version over the years. Though I gotta say the PC version has to be the most stable out of the 2. But yes, I loved AOD for what it was ;P

I had issues with the controls on PS2 and some awkward camera angles. Loved the game and story though some nice little changes in there such as the stealth elements though glad they didn't fully stick in CD future games. Controls were definitely better on PC. Might have to get back on this one as I do have on Steam.

The most missunderstood game in the entire franchise. There were no time issues, there were only management issues. The developers were literally forced to work in a way it which wasnt healthy for an artist. So many things went wrong back then and a lot happened against the will of the developers.
Still I love the game. Its a great experience on its own, another world inside the Tomb Raider universe... so complex, so big.

Way ahead of it's time really, if someone like that came out today, complete. People would be fawning over it.

After looking at all the replies here about the game, I must be the only one of this forum so far that hated it. I mean, I could go into why for many reasons, but I don't think it'd truly be appreciated.
