Developer: Naughty Dog Console: PS3 Exclusive Released: 14th June 2013 The population has been decimated. The United States government has collapsed long ago. Twenty years after the outbreak, abandoned cities are slowly reclaimed by nature. Roaming bands of survivors are killing each other for food, weapons, or whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a ruthless survivor with few moral lines left to cross, lives in one of the last remaining Quarantine Zones. These walled-off, oppressive cities are run by what’s left of the military. Despite the strict martial law, Joel operates in the black market of the city, smuggling contraband for the right price. Joel is asked by a dying friend to look after Ellie, a fourteen-year-old girl with courage beyond her years. What starts out as a simple job to deliver Ellie to another Quarantine Zone, soon transforms into a profound journey that will forever change Joel and Ellie. As they trek across a post-pandemic United States, Joel and Ellie will encounter different factions of survivors that have each found a unique way of dealing with the infected humans, the lack of supplies, and the threat of other survivors. As Joel and Ellie struggle to persevere, they must learn to trust each other and work together in order to survive the realities of this new world. At its core, The Last of Us is about the bond that forms between Joel and Ellie--it is the story of love, loyalty and redemption. So... who else here has played it? What did you think of it? If I'm honest I think it's got to be one of the best games I've played in years! And now I've completed it, I don't know what to do with myself! I don't remember the last time I felt like that about a game!

I've never been so on edge about a game, and caring so much for the characters that I was dreading getting to the end to find out their fate! This game toyed with my emotions on a regular basis!

I cried several times in this game. It's fantastic and emotional. It really put you in the most realistic situations as possible. Every experience that Joel and Ellie went through was right on target; Never exaggerated, never drawn-out. Sometimes things were simple. He's a man who can't stop grieving and she's a girl who was born into a nightmare, but deep down, just a scared girl no matter how hard she tries to show she's strong. And Joel is just a man whose been hardened by his experiences, that he doesn't want to feel pain anymore. Incredible game. Sometimes, it's just that simple.

Couldn't agree more! This game shows that you don't have to exaggerate or make everything obvious to know what's ging on and what the characters are feeling. Just a few words or the body language of a character can portray so much in this game and that's one of the many things I love about it!

Awesome run-throughs Laurie, and don't feel bad about playing it on Easy. I wanted to play it on Easy at first too, but my fiancee demanded we play it regularly on Normal and now he's making me play it on Survival. It's terrifying! Lol.

Lol, we'll the fact I'm not doing too bad on normal I don't feel so guilty about it! You're on survivor mode?!?! Bloody hell!!! I do want to attempt it one day, but only once I've tackled normal and hard modes! The way I tend to rage quit in normal mode sometimes, I don't think jay likes the thought of me trying survivor mode at all lol! Oh and thank you for taking the time to watch them!

I tried watching Pewdiepie's playthrough, but I just couldn't get on with it as it seems to be too much focus on him rather than the game! If you're going to talk through the cutscenes of a game that's all about the story, especially when it's just to spurt rubbish, then I really can't watch them! It's like someone talking to you while you're trying to watch a movie at home, yo just want them to shut the hell up! Rad Brad is more my taste as he's quiet through the cutscenes and just talks as he's playing... that and he's not over the top! If anything, it was Rad Brad who inspired me to get into making my own playthroughs!

I have to admit, I decided to give pewdiepie a second chance after seeing how many people always say how good his playthrough are... And I have to say I found him pretty hilarious, although I don't understand why people would watch his playthrough of TLOU if you've not played the game yourself as he cuts out so much of his gameplay that it just ruins the story!
But then I suppose it's more about watching his gaming experience rather than watching the game, but still I wouldn't recommend watching them unless you've already played the game yourself!

Finally got round to recording some more (had to fiddle with the new mic, although I still don't think it's spot on with the levels!) So here you go!

Personally, I would need to see a video where they had the two side by side, as I can't really tell at the moment!

I watched the game on YouTube, and I actually noticed the difference and thought that the PS4 version looked way more superior and real. Especially the environmental textures and facial textures

This. I was hoping to get a PS3 at some point to play the exclusives I've missed by not having one, but these PS4 re-releases might mean I won't have to.

Really considering getting this for my PS4. I'm really into zombie games/survival horror and this really seems right up my street. I've only heard good things about it, and if the character development and storyline is anything to go by; it sounds like a treat! Can't wait to play it.

Well, that does it. After hearing nothing but praise about this game for the last two years, I finally decided to pick up a copy. I got The Last of Us: Remastered for the PS4, and I don't even have a PS4 yet! That's how badly I want to play the game! I want to make sure I have plenty of good games to play on my new system before I go out and buy one.
The game won over 200 game of the year awards. that's 5 times the amount of awards Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition won! I get the feeling this is going to be a very fun game! :3
