Is it wrong that this trailer got me more excited than the new TR trailer did xD If this truly is the last Uncharted game ND better get their asses in gear and give us something that will have us talking for years to come.

After watching the PlayStation Experience last night, I am very excited for this game now, and it looks to be (now that TR is an XB1 exclusive) that TR will really be going head to head with Uncharted!

It's going to be painful next winter isn't it :/ UC is just going to wipe the floor with TR.
I don't even want that, there's space enough in the market for them to adventure side by side but yeah...what a mess of a situation.

The footage was taken directly from the PS4? Impressive. Most impressive.
Looks like the developers are finally starting to understand the power of the next gen consoles.
It seems that Naughty dog are pulling out all the stops to make sure Nathan Drake goes out with a bang. Lara certainly has work cut out for her.

After playing Rise I can confidently say Uncharted will be the best of them both. Uncharted has always excelled in all aspects where Tomb Raider falls short. Sad to see this franchise ending but hoping that they give Nathan a fitting send off.

I am so unbelievably excited for this game!! I think that's one of the things that disappoints me about the reboot, it just feels like an uncharted wannabe that just can't quite get it right! I'm going to be so lost when they end this series, I hope naughty dog are going to make it worth our while with last of us 2!!!

You can't deny Naughty Dog know how to deliver a game; from graphics to story telling to the environments. They seem to get everything right, which is why I agree with you Lori that the reboot games were somewhat disappointing. Especially when Crystal changed Tomb Raider to a similar style and fell flat. They're not as talented imo.
Don't get me wrong it was still a huge step-up from the trilogy and I applaud them for that.

Oh yeah, the reboot is a HUGE improvement from LAU (couldn't get on with them at all) but still feels like it's missing the mark as a tomb raider game.
Uncharted is fine to have the constant shoot outs and the set pieces as that's what it was from the beginning. Tomb Raider needs to be about the puzzles again!

Tomb Raider was a shooter from the start as-well but the difference is Core managed to balance it out between puzzles, platforming and exploring, which is where Crystal are failing. It seems like the games are being built around the combat instead of the other way around. If it was up to me, I'd build the environments around platforming, adding in puzzles and place the combat in last in areas that would be suitable for a fight.
I think what's missing from Tomb Raider is they're taking away from the player. Lara walking along the log in reboot, she can never fall off it, which is/was a bad move on their behalf. It should of been up to the players to guide Lara across safely. The use of Survival Instinct which again, it's not letting the player think for themselves and don't even get me started on the white ledges lol.
Which is another thing Uncharted is good at, yeah the game is still highly scripted but the player can still fail and it be our fault. They don't have survival instinct but they use the lighting in the game which gives the players subtle hints at were to go and even Uncharted painted ledges, they blend into the game rather than stand out.

Started playing Uncharted 4 last night, and I don't think I have been this in love with a game since The Last of Us! It still feels like the uncharted I've known and loved all these years, but a stronger emphasis on story and character! The one thing I could never get on with in Uncharted (and now rebooted tomb raider) is the combat, as that was never why I got into gaming (I'm more interested in puzzles and story) and it's almost like ND have understood this to the letter and have made the combat something that can be actually enjoyable! It's just so fluid and cusomisable (toggling auto aim on and off is a genius stroke in my eyes!) Not to mention the game is absolutely stunning! And it already feels like such an emotional journey where it's constantly making nods to the games that have come before (especially with the playable Crash Bandicoot level! OMG!) I'm not that far in as I only got to play for a few hours last night, but I'm already so much in love with this game and cannot wait to play more when I get home tonight! I really hope that Crystal takes a long hard look at this game and realises that you come across so much better when you look back at your predecessors with respect rather than thinking you have to slag them off and pretend they don't exist in order for people to buy your game!
