I've got this awesome idea how we can all unite to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Tomb Raider! I've posted an announcement here and I've got enough feedback to realise that people actually are interested to participate. The idea is to create a nice sequence of short video clips ( like this) and unite fans of all aspects of tomb raider. So please use this thread to "enroll" yourself for the project. You can be in any country of the globe to be part of this. All you need is some sort of video recording device (good quality is encouraged but not mandatory). Post here some information about yourself (location, your preferences as in which games /comic books /films you like) so we can match you with alike people to create a nice looking sequence! Also do tell if you're an artist or cosplayer so we can think of something involving that too! If you already have something in mind about your sequence please share as well! Totally open to all suggestions. Also don't forget to spread the word about this project. We have just over a year to have this done! Technical requirements:Film your entry in the best possible quality of your mobile phone or your camera (ideally, Full HD 1920 x 1080, 16:9) Try to avoid camera movements such as shaking etc. Use camera movement only if it's necessary for your clip. Otherwise try to set up your camera on a solid surface or ask a person who's filming you to be perfectly still Leave about 5-10 seconds of buffer time at the beginning and at the end of all videos. You don't need to add additional music or sound effects as they most likely will be removed in favour of the main soundtrack. Age RestrictionsChildren under the age of 16 need parents/legal guardian permission. Simply ask any adult relative of yours to drop me an email saying that they are okay with you to participate in this. Make sure they include your Internet nickname so we know who they're talking about. My email is ash@laracroft.ru Update: the following people who were involved in Tomb Raider development have confirmed their participation! Shelley Blond (Lara's voice TR1) Judith Gibbins (Lara's voice TR2-TR3) Nathan McCree (composer TR1-TR3) Peter Conelly (composer TR4-TR6) Ian Livingstone (Eidos/Square Enix Europe) Jeremy Heath-Smith (founder of Core Design) Jill de Jong (Lara Croft model) (filmed)

Hi Ash Officially registering here Location: UK Preference: Classic and Reboot games, unashamed AoD lover - One of the things I do with a lot of my TR work (fanfiction/costumes) is to blend bios together to create a singular timeline that links all the games. Sega Saturn Raider <3 Also a cosplayer and currently 6 months into my Year of the Croft celebration (a themed week in every month to share fan creations and all things TR) on Twitter to lead up to the 20th anniversary

Preference: LAU Trilogy Lara and Movie Lara. I absolutely love TR Underworld, and I WILL bring you a copy of the game and my Xbox 360 over so you can play it, if I am given the chance! I also love the orgional Lara Croft Tomb Raider movie staring Angelina Jolie. She was perfect for the role! Been a TR fan since I downloaded Guardian of light on my Xbox 360 back in 2011. Since then, I have played just about every tomb raider game I could get my hands on. I also collect Tomb Raider comics and statues, with the pride of my current collection being my Lara Croft Survivor Statue Exclusive by Gaming Heads.
I would love to be a part of this 20th anniversary project! :3

Hello Ash! I'm a male Tomb Raider cosplayer from the UK, specifically South of England and my favourite game in the series is TR2 but my cosplay is best of the newer gamers (eg. Reborn and Rise of the Tomb Raider) so I would prefer to be in that area. I suppose as a basic idea for the kind of shot transitions is cosplayers shooting arrows or shooting guns or whatever at different fans in locations? As I say, basic. Love this idea!

JasonCroft Basic or not I'm sure we can work on it. I don't want to restrict people. I'm just organising and editing the video itself haha

Hi Ash. Found my way here and registered at last Location: Nottinghamshire, UK TR connections: fan since 1999 (TR4); active on TR forum since 2005 (moderator since 2006); performed Lara (and other) voiceovers for custom levels, animations, and fan films since 2005; writer of fan fiction including short stories, a full-length acclaimed AoD novelisation (also approved and praised by Murti Schofield), and currently co-writer and novelist of a fan-made AoD continuation TR: The Lost Dominion (nope, we ain't dead ); dabbler in TR fan artwork in pencil and XNA/Paint.NET. TR loves: The Core Design years, especially the TR4-5-AoD arc; gameplay improvements in the TR2013 era (e.g. combat, environment design). TR hates: The LAU 'Mummy' storyline as basis for Lara's archaelogical passion; unnecessary speculation about Lara's sex life/family/friend squabbles in place of solving ancient mysteries i.e. TOMB RAIDING Other interests: BIOLOGY IN ALL ITS WONDROUS FORMS (member of the Society of Biology, BSc Open from the Open University); cats; nature (whoops, biology creeps in again); Paganism; writing fiction and non-fiction; reading (Pratchett, May, Mieville, Butcher, Gaiman - sci-fi and fantasy being regular favs); ancient mythology and cultures. Odd facts: I have hypermobilty syndrome and grow tomatoes.

Hiii Ash!!! I have an idea. Everybody wear blue T-shirt and brown jeans or something. And somebody gives or casts Tomb Raider I. (1996) box to somebody but the other screen have Tomb Raider II. and he/she gives it and other screen, he/she have Tomb Raider III....... .And the end everybody write Tomb Raider 20. Anniversary or one person writes one letter or number (T-O-M-B R-A-I-D-E-R......) Sorry. My english skill is not 100%. Sounds like a good idea. Perhaps we can have the main theme from each game playing in the background during each scene?

I'm very keen to take part in this. I'm a South African currently resident in Japan.
In terms of my Tomb Raider credentials and preferences, I played the original multiple times back in 1996-1997 but only really fell in obsessive love with the franchise with TR2013. That led me to go back and rediscover the series. I obviously love Reboot Lara but the Hawes-voiced Lara of Legend and the offshoot Lara Croft games is also a favorite of mine. So, yeah, definitely a fan of Crystal Dynamics Lara.
I have written quite a lot about Tomb Raider on my pop culture blog, but I am also a Reboot Lara cosplayer and fan fiction writer.

Hey There! I am very interested in being a part of this, so I'm "officially" signing up! A little bit about me:
-I'm a female from Boston, MA, USA. I have been playing the Tomb Raider games since I was about 5 or 6 years old, and have been playing ever since. I honestly love all of the games in the series.
-I love to I play games (video games and table-top). In terms of video games, I play a WIDE variety. I'm big into Pokemon (with eevee/ the eeveelutions being my favorite ones), really enjoy Minecraft, and have played a chunk of RPGs, adventure games, and shooters. I absolutely love fantasy, but hate sci-fi. My favorite all-time games/series would have to be (in no particular order) Tomb Raider, Kingdom Hearts, The Sims, Dragon Age, Pokemon, and Animal Crossing. You can check out most of my game collection over at raptr.com/LPJenn
- I absolutely love to write. I find it incredibly calming. I've had multiple personal blogs over the last decade or so, but stuck to Tumblr as my main one. I was also a writer over at thedeadhamster.com for a few months. In addition to game impressions and reviews, I write about various discussion prompts (mostly about people and relationships) and what's happening in my personal life. You can take a look at it at lpjenn.tumblr.com
-I also love to draw. I used to draw A LOT more when I was younger, but still try to draw here and there. I prefer digital art to traditional, simply because it is so much easier to manipulate, but I do both. I keep a DeviantArt page(lpjenn.deviantart.com) with all that stuff. I’m artsy in general, and love doing random, occasional arts-and-crafts projects. I take photos too! I'm still working on the funds to purchase a super fancy DSLR, but the Nikon I have right now does the job for hobby-work.
-I love Alternative Rock music, with my favorite band of all-time being Linkin Park. I've gotten every response to that statement, from "OH GOD, WHY LINKIN PARK?" to "I LOVE LINKIN PARK TOO!" Regardless, I've been a fan for about a decade now, have seen them in concert five times (soon to be six), and have met them personally four times. I have a strong love for music.
-I'm a huge Disney fan. The magic and wonder behind everything that Disney creates and stands for absolutely amazes me. Also, I’m easily excitable. Things that are shiny, change color, light up, or just look pleasing to the eye I absolutely love.
-I cosplay! I've only done a couple, but I have cosplayed as Lara Croft from the 2013 Tomb Raider game for PAX East 2013 and PAX East 2015. I'm most likely going to cosplay as classic Lara for PAX East 2016.
-I own a Samsung NX300, if you want an idea of how video quality would be.
So yea, keep me updated!

Brilliant idea, Ash! I'm a fan of the whole series located in the US. I'm not much for the technical end, nor do I have any expensive gear, so I'd be filming with a phone camera, but I'm flexible and would be happy to pitch in any way I can.
Just tossing out ideas.... Since we'll probably have many fans from all the different "eras" of TR, if we were going to do a video like the example you showed, with people passing things from one frame to the next, maybe we could start with TR1, have a few people passing that game from one to another, then on to TR2, 3, etc., up to Rise. We'd need to plan who'd be the ones to transition from one game to the next, but maybe a few people could film two different versions so the editor would have a choice of which one to use. Or, once we have a sign-up list, we could connect each person to the players before/after so they could plan their transistions.

Lovely idea Ash! I'm from the Netherlands and love the games! Each one has it own feeling I'm a cosplayer (Madenice Cosplay) and have so far outfits of Classic Lara, South Pacific, Nevada, Angel of Darkness (jeans) and Reborn. I have al the games in hard-copies for PC (as far as possible, Chronicles and AoD are in bundle, but the rest are in those big boxes) and a few comics. Btw, I love Stellalune's idea! We could also mix this with outfit related (or not, for the fun of it).

I am so for this idea so colour me interested! Location: England-South (can easily get into London for anything joint with other fans) No particular game preferences as I have loved them all in their own ways over the years since '96. I have done a Pierre (Anniversary) cosplay and aim to do one for Mathias still so could incorporate one of those. Am loving the idea of game box passing between scenes.

Hello! I registered here just because of this! I'm not really forum kind of guy.. Anyway, I've been HUGE Tomb Raider fan for 10 years now, which is OK since I am 17 years old. I've played and finished every single Tomb Raider several times. My favorites are Tomb Raider 2, Tomb Raider 3, Tomb Raider AOD, Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider 2013. Every game has something special, and I still enjoy every single game pretty much. I am from Novi Sad Serbia, my room is full of Tomb Radier posters, games and anything that I had money to buy about TR. Some of my games are in bundle and some are in SoldOut pack (TRAOD is in both bundle and SoldOut pack, yes i have several duplicates) and they are all for PC!
I love the idea of game boxes passing from people to people between scenes.
Cheers!

The passing of TR game boxes/cases from one screen to another sounds cool. A slight variation could be to have people hold the box right up to camera, to pull it back towards them so we can see them, wave, crack silly grins, etc., before pushing the box back towards the camera till the lens is covered for a moment, then repeat for the next game box held by the next participant, and so on. The only potential issue with this is there are only nine or so official games in the series, and we clearly have more people than that already signing up. Could we extend the definition of object to include things like novels, strategy guides, game companions, posters, T-shirts, and the like - basically anything that can be held up to completely cover the camera lens? Damn, this means we'd all have to post complete inventory lists of all our TR memorabilia so Ash can choose who is holding up what!

That's a nice idea... maybe we could integrate the two?
So we have the first person to hold the first game right up to the camera, then have it zoom out so we can see them and then they could throw it and the next shot will be someone catching it. But instead of the same copy of the game, maybe for example, the person who throws it, could be throwing a playstation copy of TR1 and the person who catches it, could be catching the PC copy?

Another idea for our artists. One of them could draw one picture of Lara in frame A, move it to frame B where another artist grabs it and it turns out to be his picture. We could also illustrate variety of games through such fan art sequence!

We can mix many sequences in one video btw, we can have Game boxes + something else + something else + something else

Is it worth cutting the video into sections then?
So in one part we have regular fans passing box art of the gaming to each other, then artists, and then possibly cosplayers?
