Playstation 4 for me. I've always had playstations, it seems a bit silly to change now! ^ Same here. For a while I did toy with getting an Xbox, but the I felt really naughty for even thinking it! I guess I'm just a PS kind of girl. I am excited about PS4. I don't know if I will get it as soon as its released, as there are a lot of games coming up that I want to play on the PS3, plus there are all the games I already have that I'm still happy to keep playing. But, the closer its getting to release date, the more I want to just go wild and get one already

After much thought I decided to get neither until I see a step up in the gameplay for games. This generation focused more on Multiplayer, Graphics and the Casual crowd to the point most games suffered. Don't see the point in shelling out $399 if I'm only gonna play and enjoy like 10 games.

After much careful thought, I think I'll wait a year or so until I make a choice. By then, the prices might have dropped a bit, the hardware issues will hopefully be solved, and there will be a large selection of games to choose from. As hard as it will be for me to more or less start from scratch, I feel that the game-centric nature of the PS4 will serve my needs better than the "all-in-one" nature of the Xbone. The biggest reason for me to pick the PS4 is it's backwards compatibly feature they are setting up later in 2014, as I there are quite a few gems that I've missed out on. Especially Metal Gear Solid 4. I've been meaning to play that game for a LONG time. In any case, I'm looking forward to Star Wars Battlefront, Destiny, Metal Gear Solid V, and Tomb Raider II.

Hi guys -- so, has anyone taken the plunge and gone next gen?
My other half and I went halves on a ps4. I haven't actually had a go on it yet, but it is beautiful *blush*. We didn't get any games with it, but have downloaded a couple of freebies that are quite fun. One of my friends at work has got COD Ghosts on ps4, and he says that's great, but I'm going to save my pennies a bit longer and see what I fancy soon.

I voted Xbox One
I have more than enough consoles and games to last the rest of my lifetime, but if I suddenly get rich I will buy an XBox One before anything with a Sony label on it. I am just naturally suspicious of any console developer who thought it a good idea to deliberately make their previous consoles hard to develop games for.
Knowing how the new generation of consoles were going, I brought a new PC!
And already having a GameCube and Wii gathering dust, my thoughts on Nintendo are not much better than Sony, great consoles, hardly any games I want to play. Their next gadget will do fine without me.
With a PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameBoy Colour, DS, GameCube, Wii and a reasonably good PC I am happy. I would rather save up for another PC than buy a gaming console that is confused about what it is meant to be.

Waiting seems to be the sensible option.. There's nothing really out for either that is a killer app.. The updates coming thru now for the x1 show its got potential, and am sure Sony will have similar updates too (altho nothing ground breaking yet).
Titanfall will `start` x1's return to success, and Second Son will be PS4's first proper game.. Scary that they've been out so long and still not found real ground.. Sales figures dont mean squat if theres no games to play on the system.. I personally discount Fifa/CoD etc as `games`.. they're fodder.

I've given this question a lot of thinking about. In the end, I will go with the PS4. Mostly because I have more friends who have a PS4, and I also REALLY want to play The Last of Us. I also plan on picking up Metal Gear solid V, as the series has had a long history with Sony. Who knows, I might even pick up Uncharted 4 while I wait for Rise of the tomb raider to come to the PS4 or PC.
Maybe at some point I'll get the Xbox one, but for now there just aren't enough good games for it that interest me.
