We all know the thing to do these days is to make a quick buck off gamers by re-releasing PS2 games. But for once I think this whole remastering gimmick could be used for some good...by completely restoring AOD to what it could have been. I mean think about it, with the right people we could finally have the game we have always wanted back in 2003.
- Restore the missing audio, the missing Paris areas, Putai the shaman, etc - Controls remade from scratch to work properly on consoles. - Fix the power up system to be more in depth - Add an option to speed up conversations with the Action button. - Add in those missing levels from Germany and Turkey, pretty sure Jonell and the actor for Kurtis are still out there for hire. - Tie up all the loose ends so we can finally have closure and put aod to rest. - Graphically just max that sucker out xD
Would be nice to finally have a Director's Cut of AOD released..be nice to finally have the full game in our grasp. >.> (I can dream) lol

I would pay a fair bit for a Director's cut AoD, even if it were just a PSN download which I don't normally do.

I would honestly pay the full $60 charge if they would finally give us a director's cut =D

I agree that a director's cut would be awesome! I would pay full price for one! Plus, this would be impossible, but I would love to see some of the loose ends of the story tied up a little. I would love to learn more about the Lux Veirtatis!

It would confuse a lot of people I think if they released it though!

I wouldn't mind an HD re-release/director's cut . Just so long as they at least fixed the bugs. If they did that, as well as add all the extra content that was meant to be in the game originally, I would seriously pay $60 for it!

Would, love a HD remake, with bugs fixed, more playable areas, some of the deleted stuff restored, more NPC's to fill all those empty deserted streets, and the controls a bit more responsive with a proper turning animation. That incremental turning had me in fits every time I tried to pick up that ring at Carvier's, I swear I could have got TR1 Lara to pick it up faster. If I was out of practice the entire police force would descend on her while I was still trying to get that ring!
Along with the content of the collector's edition Making of CD and maybe a few other unlockables it would be worth it. I do not see them including what was never in the game though, Turkey and Germany were not a part of AOD, being cut before they were building the levels. Murti is too busy these days and I have doubts they could tempt him back for another try. James Kenny lost all his concept art and probably no one else had much idea of what they were going to do. But they could always ask Richard Morton, on the off chance he knew and would like another chance at to make a Tomb Raider game, or in this case a Lara Croft game more likely.
Always there will be mysteries though, the story was never going to be complete in that first game and we were never going to get the answers we wanted till much later, some questions were never going to be answered. But if they had released AOD and it had actually worked on my PS2 rather than crashing it all the time and doing other weird things to try and prevent me playing, I would not have taken such a dislike to the game and treated my new PS2 like it had the plague after finally getting through that experience.
The newer fans will still have the reboot and later games and spin offs. Especially after missing out on TRAE, it would be nice for Square Enix to give the classic fans something to play. A new Lara Croft game, a HD remake of AOD. But realistically, considering Eidos would not even include the name on that iDVD, I do not see them ever remaking AOD, would be nice to be proved wrong.

Richard Morton already told me he would come back in a heart beat for an HD director's cut version. Some of the Germany levels were worked on they just didn't make it, there was also a cavern training area originally versus the training area we got. We would have spoke to Putai at this area.
All a matter of Square Enix wanting to take the risk and give back to the AOD fans at this point.

AoD has an amazing fanbase, I'll give it that. I still believe it was far ahead of its time.

Yeah I think it would be quite a treat for classic TR fans to be able to have an AoD HD remaster. The game deserves it IMO. It had one of the best story lines I've ever played, a beautiful score and potential. It had potential and I still think it has potential now!

After all these years it's beautiful to see so many people still interested in the AOD saga, if you haven't voted yet please do so =)

I would throw whatever amount of money necessary at it. I would give my left arm, my first born, and other peoples first born for it. I would build a shrine in its honor. For an HD or Directors Cut of that game I would do anything.

If they fixed the mechanics and didn't mess with the character, why not?

I think that they are not going to make a remake... sadly. They might think that it isn't a good invetment and they could fall on the same mistakes.I just don't see them making it! I would love to play TR AOD decently not having to constantly fix problems... I'm a BIG fan of Tr but... I doubt. All fans out there want it also, but Crystal isn't much of hearing the fans ;( If they fixed the mechanics and didn't mess with the character, why not? That's the problem! They might be afraid of falling in the same mistake.

I'd actually pay good money for a remake/remaster of Angel of Darkness as-long as it came as a whole game. No DLC, no extra modes ect.

I am clearly on the complete opposite side of this discussion as I really disliked Angel of Darkness. But I wouldn't mind see a HD graphics master as long as it's done right. Very few "remastered" editions of old games hardly look that good and are usually just a cash-cow.
