I've just read the first one and found it so terrible it seemed the only redeeming feature was how short it was. It could have been written by a random word generator; the few sequences of dialogue that made any kind of sense were bland and utterly uninteresting. The art wasn't great, and kind of strange looking; Lara had black lips and no pupils. I really hope that this series will improve.

I had the chance to read the first one today. It was alright. I'm sure it will get better as the series goes on. On that note, are there only going to be 5 issues, or will there be more eventually?

Personally, I prefer the art style of the old comics (these just look so washed out in comparison).
@herbie I believe there are 12 issues.

So far, only 5 issues have been announced. Maybe they will release the other 7 after issue #5 has dropped?

I had a feeling she would return to Yamatai eventually. I just love how her personality has changed since she left Yamatai. She is truly becoming the classic badass adventurer we all know and love. Issue #3 has left me at the edge of my seat, and I am looking forward to the last three issues of this first story arc.

I have been enjoying them. I have comic #4 coming in the mail soon. I am interested to see how the island of Yamatai has changed since Lara was last there. Am I the only one who hopes Sam doesn't die? It would kina stink if Lara went through all the effort of going back to the island and finding Sam, only to have her die. But with 3 more issue to go, anything can happen.

I'm waiting for #4 to arrive in the post, so have been avoiding tumblr at all costs as I always seem to find snippets of the comics there I hope Sam doesn't die... or at least, not yet. I think its cute that Lara has Sam in her life (I do 'ship' them a little bit),and I'm particularly interested to see how far her friendship might make her go, if that makes sense?

I don't usually read video game-related comics, as many of them seem like cash grabs to me. I might give this one a try, though, as Gail Simone is writing it. I've heard plenty of good things about her Batgirl comics. (Actually, I think the original Tomb Raider comics had well-respected comics people working on them, too.)

I don't really read comics, so its something a little different for me to be buying these TR ones. I do like reading them, although I can't seem to get my head around the way Lara looks, I think its just a personal preference thing for me. I've now read #4, and the cover of #5 does excite me a little bit -- bearing in mind what I just said about the way Lara looks in the comics, the cover for #5 is super! The coat makes me think of the trailer for ROTTR.

They have announced comics #7 and #8, as well as a volume 1 book, which will cover issues 1-6. that way you don't have to buy them individually. Apparently, in issue 8, Lara will be going to Chernobyl. Not sure what Chernobyl has to do with the recent events in the comics, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Chernobyl? Wow... its going to be interesting to see how the story leads Lara to going there. I received my copy of #5 today, and I liked reading it. I've mentioned about the cover art for this one before, and now I have the comic and have been able to look at it up close, I'm just in love with the way Lara is on the cover!!

Got to admit, if these weren't TR comics...I would have given up by now. The stories are so fantastical, and not even in a good way, the art is bland and colourless and so far I don't think they have added anything to Lara's character.
