While I was on my trip in London, I was able to purchase a copy of Tomb Raider (1996) for the PlayStation 1. As I was driving home from work, I decided to put the game disk in my car's CD player, just to see what would happen. It started playing music from the game! It even played the audio from the cut scenes and Lara's lines from the tutorial level. Pretty neat, huh? :3

To be honest I thought that was general knowledge! I used to play mine all the time on my cd player whenever I wasn't able to play the game!

Until now, I had no idea this was even possible. Apparently, the audio tracks are formatted in such a way that a regular CD player can read them and play them. This also works for TR 2 as well, among other games. I think I ever heard some tracks not included in the regular game. I love it when I can find little Easter eggs like this, even if that aren't really "Easter eggs" in the traditional sense.

Yep! My Saturn can read it like a CD too in all its 90s music playing glory! (trippy swirl and beat effects and 'wow/wooop' sound effects)

Yeh the first 3 games (or was it 2) used standard CD Audio tracks on the disc for its music.. *checks archive of masters* It was 2..

Didn't want to make another thread, so I'll say it here...... I just ordered Tomb raider II so I can listen to the music in my car. Got a good deal on it as well. Got it for $12.63 in near mint condition.
