I found this on reddit: "At the end of TR6, Lara Croft picked up Kurtis' weapon that he had dropped during his fight. Lara walks away, but looks to the player one more time before leaving forever. Later on, off camera, Lara hunts down Kurtis and murders him with his own weapon, clearing up "Loose Ends". She hides his body in one of the nightclub lights at the nightclub in Paris, and is able to successfully clear her name by making up a story that Von Croy was murdered by Kurtis and he vanished, and Lara was a victim. Getting a ton of money from the press and media, she gets plastic surgery and buys a mansion. She then befriends a few explorers, one of them Amanda, and assumes a false back story that her mother died in a plane crash. Tomb Raider Legend then begins!" I can't stop laughing.

This theory is actually quite amusing! Must have taken her a few years for Lara to change her voice LOL. Maybe her "old" personality from AOD starts to show through when her mansion is destroyed? Luckily, Zip and Winston must have been locked in the freezer long enough to have lost any memories of AOD Lara.
I myself like to believe that Lara Croft is a Time Lord, and that Classic, LAU, and Reboot Lara are all regenerations of the same person. Personality differences aside, it kind of makes sense.

Most of the time, I like to think that Classic and Legend Lara are somehow the same, while 2013 Lara is her daughter.
Its a shame they didn't do that. Rather than a reboot, 2013 Tomb Raider should have been Lara Croft's daughter. That could have been interesting!

I tend to keep Classic Lara and Legend Lara separate.
Having Classic Lara as a role model as I grew up and then having a very different weaker Lara come into the franchise when I was an adult, means that they will always be two very different people in my eyes.
Reboot Lara is that little bit closer to Classic Lara than Legend Lara ever was, I think anyway!

Haha! That is certainly a different way of looking at the end of AoD!
@lori Yes! Someone else who thinks that classic Lara is closer to reboot Lara! I think that too! This is why I put a healed scar on my AoD cosplay to sort of say that Yamatai happened years ago and now she is going through the events of AoD (not that anyone noticed x) )
LAU Lara, never a fan of the stories or characterisation of Lara myself.
