So Crystal and Square have announced today that they will be putting on events throughout the year to celebrate this massive milestone, starting with PAX East... Read more about it hereHow are you guys looking to celebrate it? Are you joining in with our own Anniversary project, or are you looking to do something yourself that's personal to you as a fan? What do you think the events will be? Cosplay gatherings? Giveaways? What are you hoping to see?

Hoping to see more media released that celebrated the entire series as a whole. Not really big into the whole cosplay thing so not really interested in those events. Be nice to have a new retrospective featuring interviews with ex core employees for their games and then crystal for all their games. Sorta a look back documentary.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see what takes place. However, I'm sure many fans will feel a certain bittersweetness to these celebrations, seeing as two-thirds (PC and PS gamers) have been and continue to miss out on the latest game due to console exclusivity. It's hard to make fans of a franchise feel included and in the mood to celebrate if the distributers continue to ignore them. The divisiveness of the franchise over the last year or so has only rubbed salt into the classics vs. reboot camps, rather than bringing them closer together, and recent Twitter remarks from some Crystal employees (e.g. the 'ice queen that handles like a tank') have only made things worse, IMO.
More than anything, I hope that the 20th anniversary celebrations actively try to heal the divisions in the TR fan community. There's more than enough space for everyone and their own personal favourites/opinions. It's well past time we all acknowledged and respected that.
But yeah, on a lighter note, I agree totally with AJ; a new documentary would be great! (sort of an updated Lara Croft: Lethal and Loaded).

I'm excited to be celebrating the franchise reaching 20 years. Let's just hope that they'll celebrate the franchise as a whole and not just their games.

I'm excited to be celebrating the franchise reaching 20 years. To see a game franchise make it 20 years is an outstanding achievement. I will celebrate by taking part in the Survivor Reborn 20th Anniversary Project.
I think the upcoming events will be a combination of Cosplay gatherings, Giveaways, and maybe even some anniversary themed DLC for Rise. (Croft Manor DLC?) Maybe a 20th anniversary bundle with all the games for PS4, PC, and Xbox? Who knows what the future holds!
I think it would be wise of Crystal to honor the series as a whole, as I feel this would go a long way towards healing the divisions in the Tomb Raider fan base.
As AJ said, it would be cool to see a new documentary covering the series as a whole. It would be a great way to look back and see just how far we have come.
