This has probably already mentioned or discussed but did anyone else wonder if Lara's classical attributes had been spread out amongst the supporting cast? Like Roth had her guns, Reyes had her gloves, Alex had her brown backpack etc? Just something I noticed, mainly due to the conceptual artwork.

Perhaps Sam and Jonah's influence would provide her with a camera and a knife? I dunno, it's just something I wondered about since the concept art was unveiled. *highlight spoilers* Mostly I wondered about how this Lara would become "the Tomb Raider" but the ending nailed it when she picked up the second pistol. Now I'm wondering about the next time we see her and whether she'll be something brand new entirely or a humanly proportioned version of the icon before.

There were a few other things I noticed that were reminiscent of previous games. Mainly pieces of dialogue that reminded me of dialogue from past games. Probably not intentional though!
But I agree with what you said, I noticed the backpack and the twin pistols. I liked it!

Incredibly small detail, but I am absolutely certain that the shallow water footstep sound is the same one from Tomb Raider 2/3. However, I thought Lara herself was beginning to show attributes of classic Lara throughout the course of the narrative, most evidently when she got the grenade launcher and went on a rampage. That was classic Croft to the core. (no pun intended).

I guess this thread is asking about nods to the classics, yes? I noticed the backpack, gloves and dual pistols obviously. And as AJ said, when you find the last GPS, Lara goes 'Aha' and the old secret tune rings. I was really happy to also know that I wasn't the only one who picked up on the old sounds from the game, like water, the rope that would swing from the Opera House boxes from TRII, etc. I was really happy about the fact that relics were included into with little mini facts and back stories. Very Tomb Raider like. Now I'm just excited to see what the next game holds.

Got to admit, I felt a sense of the old core TR coming through the narrative. Much more than Legend and Underworld.

This never crossed mind until now. Now that I think about it..... it makes sense. It's almost like a silent nod from the developers to the fans, as if they are saying "Yes, this is a reboot, but we haven't completely forgotten about classic Lara". Now I'm going to replay Tomb Raider 2013 to see if I can find more of these classic attributes. :3
