Since Crystal made such a big thing about the characters in this game and their stories etc, I thought it would be interesting to see who people liked the most out of all the main charcaters in the game... including Lara herself. You can give two answers as to who your favourites are, and if you're going to post a reply, please bear in mind that some people may not have finished the game/got as far as you so may not know the fate of some the characters, so no spoilers please! Wasn't really a fan of the rest to be honest! Although Alex reminded me of a less annoying version of Alister.

Lara (duh) and Roth. He seemed horribly underused. I thought even Whitman was likable, not in a way that I would like him IRL, but he seemed developed well for being a "bad" guy.

While I love Roth and I cried after his passing (I even liked Grim and I wish we could vote for more than just two), I really love Jonah. He's such a sweetie with a big heart. C'mon! He calls Lara, 'Little Bird'! How sweet is that? |

Lara. Her friends seemed like a collection of hackneyed old tropes to me, though I did still enjoy them and like reading their journals (which sounds weird when you say it). I thought Matthias was a pretty good villain. It would have been nice to find out more about him, especially pre-Island Matthias.

Finding out that Matthias was actually a really good man until he came to the island and was driven mad... Would have made him a lot more of a tragic figure I think...

They should have done that with Mathias, it would have been great and given his character a lot more dimensions.
I loved Grim, he was Scottish and an alcoholic and just hilarious but Lara was so bad-ass that she has to be my overall favourite, no questions asked. It was amazing how she was so unsure of herself and although I missed sassy Keeley Hawes Lara I thought the new version was great too.

Lara and Roth, still can't believe the poor guy is dead! Would have been one hell of a twist if it turned out Roth was Lara's father though that would bring it far too many of LAU's parent issues, but it would have been...interesting... Grim, I loved his lines but he wasn't anything special. Sam...she can just jump of the highest ledge in St Francis Folly. |

Tehe, I thought I'd find Sam more annoying that I actually did. Reyes and Whitman annoyed me more, I think.

I think Sam annoyed me more because of the fact she was saved at the end, I expected all the way through for her to be sacrificed in the last scene, but when she got saved by Lara, I have to say I almost felt cheated.
I can see why you found Reye annoying though and Whitman, again I could deal with as I knew he'd get his comeuppance at some point!

Yeah, I thought she would have been sacrificed too. I kinda wanted it to be Jonah, Lara, Roth and Alex that went home and everyone else sacrificed *sigh*. I think Sam's bio makes me think less of her... she grates on me just by reading it haha. But I know a lot of people ship her and Lara as a couple, so killing her off would have been an unpopular decision.

I thought she would be sacrificed too, I really wanted it to be just Lara who escaped Yamatai. Roth being the final person to die, probably as part of the boss battle. I am getting very tired of the LaraxSam shippers, so hard to find a decent story that doesn't revolve around that shipping. Now I know how all those people who hated Kurtis ships must have felt There were many feels though when Alex died because I found the note before he died and then that little peck on the cheek, come on Lara we needed this:  Heartless Lara, heartless |

I never liked Kurtis either so yeah! haha And yeah, they needed a steamy makeup session for all that unresolved tension ;D I really hope they can weasel him back in the game somehow  But PLEASE NOT as another Amanda situation - Alex would never be evil! |
