The rumours circling is that it's going to be based in America... I'm hoping for somewhere slightly more exotic though! And definitely not with Sam in tow!

Can't believe I'm about to say this but I honestly haven't given it much thought. Guess I'm still content playing through the reboot XD
Would be nice to have more exploration and tombs in the future though. More areas that are like Thailand from Underworld. What I don't want to return is a bunch of useless side characters,

And definitely not with Sam in tow! Agreed! The TR2013 was more about Sam than Lara... -.- (Well okay, not, but I hope you get what I mean. XD) I have nightmares with Lara's quotes: "Saaam! SAM!!! SAAAAAMMM! SAM! SAM??? SAAAAM!" But back to the topic: I really hope this time the game will focus on exotic locations and tombs, and puzzle solving, than fighthing. That's all I want.

I'm so excited about this upcoming game we know nothing about XD I just know it'll be as perfect as the last one. Dunno why everyone here hates Sam. I mean yeah Lara and Sam screaming each other's names was pretty annoying but I doubt Sam'll return for the next game. Crystal said that they had intended for Sam to die in the original ending but changed it because they felt like Lara had learned about loss. I think the ending would've been better with Sam dying, or at least more interesting. For the next game I just hope they won't go back to any locations from the previous games. Sure the locations in Underworld and in every other TR were incredible (especially Thailand) but we need new material.

I dunno, I think I just found Sam useless and annoying! And I agree, I think Sam should have been killed off at the end of the game... not just because I hate her, but because I think it would have made for a more dramatic ending; it didn't seem to fit to me that she survived! To be fair, it probably would have been better if Lara had been the only survivor! Where do you think they could go to in the next game, that hasn't been used already? We're very quickly running out of places with interesting archaeological significance where Lara could find herself in? Welcome to the forums too by the way, be sure to introduce yourself in the welcome mat section!

I agree with you completely. It would've made for a perfect ending if Lara had been the only survivor. Thanks btw for the welcome Adore this site. About the new places she should visit, yeah it's true that they are almost out of interesting ones. They should definitely stay away from Japan for now cause we've seen enough of that in the last game and it was beautiful. I'd personally love to see her interact with more people so it would be nice to visit some cities. Egypt is an interesting location as always but unfortunately that has been over used in games everywhere including TR. Maybe Russia would be an interesting place to visit but I'm not sure how many historical values it has that could be Tomb Raider material. Damn I often underestimated people who create these plots and locations for video games, it's a lot tougher that it seems. If I get any good ideas I'll post them here asap.

For the next game, I'm really wanting Lara to be trained at this point or at least done a good amount of it. Maybe she can get a few more moves within the next adventure. As well, I am wanting a honest to goodness, treasure hunt story for Lara, where she doesn't back down but still is in shock of the 'line between myths and reality'. I want something to scare me but put me in the position to keep trekking on as the classics did; An adventure with historical value and beautiful locations with a very good mysterious story. Gimme the dual pistols to play with and I'll be one happy camper. That's not too much to ask for, right?

I think North America is a possibility with the mentioning of Croatoan in Lara's diary at the end of TR9. Lost colony? Lemme grab my guns, I'll be with you in a moment . Personally I'd like the slight horror element remain, as grim as it was, that pool of blood moment really hit home with how brutal Yamatai was. In particular I would like Lara's necklace to hold a residual power that was picked up from Yamatai. The necklace perhaps sometimes controls Lara's emotions and/or actions (this would also make for some interesting gameplay and controls I think) The involvement of a trinity is also very interesting, perhaps Lara herself is a missing link? Perhaps at the end of tr10, Lara needs to go back to Yamatai to settle some old scores after finding out new information in America. As for Sam...please, no Sam. Let her go on a dig in Peru or something. I agree that Lara should have been a sole survivor. Croft manor! Maybe it could work as the first level where you 'train up' and depending on your score, it affects health and strength at the start of the new game. I got too excited about this new section that any sane person probably should

Like drcroft, I have a feeling the Lost Colony will be featured in some way in the next TR game. I'm not really sure how that would play out and, personally, I prefer visiting more exotic locales on my TR adventures. ^_^
There are still loads of places Lara could visit. Pretty much most of Africa has been ignored in the TR franchise (with the exception of Egypt and Ghana). Perhaps they could have her visit Ethiopia in search of the Ark of the Covenant. After all, we know she finds it at some point in her career as a tomb raider as it's mentioned in the backstory of TR1 (sorry, but I refuse to let go of Classic Lara). ^_^
The Middle East is another region she hasn't really travelled to in the games...but I suppose people would think that this would be a complete rip-off of Uncharted 3. Iran would make for an interesting location. Lots of potential danger there, plenty of ruins to explore (e.g. Persepolis).
