What would you like to see as Lara's iconic weapon?

As much as I'd love to say bow, the dual pistols make more sense as they're Lara's trademark weapons. But it would be cool to have the option to swap between the pistols and a bow. :-)

I picked the bow, unless they redo the combat again I have a feeling they won't be able to get the dual pistols to control correctly xD

I picked dual pistols. I had a lot of fun with the bow, but it would be nice to go back to the dual pistols now that Lara has been "reborn" and her character has been established.
They should include an option where you can disable or enable auto aim as the player sees fit. I think that would make the most sense if they decided to go back to the dual pistols.

Dual pistols, because 1) They're Lara's iconic default weapons and I love them sentimentally (fun fact: in one of the Tomb Raider novels, somebody insists that weapons should have names, so Lara spontaneously dubs them 'Lara's Gun' and 'Lara's Other Gun') and 2) Outside of the kind of desert island, only weapon Lara can get her hands on scenario, it just seems comically impractical relative to the alternative of guns. It's much bigger and more awkward to use and to carry around, it takes longer to reload, it's less accurate, has a shorter range, does less damage, plus Lara would have to bring a bunch of arrows, a quiver, and other archery related paraphernalia not very conducive to acrobatics or Tomb Raiding in general. Not that I have anything against bows; I'm in my university archery club! It would just seem too impractical for me to take seriously.

This is a very awkward question to answer!
1. I really loved how the bow controlled, however in another environment it may not make as much sense. So I hope it returns in the new TR, perhaps towards the end. In a strange way this could make the bow iconic as players would be like "yes! I have the bow back!"
2. Duel pistols, I love them. They are just quintessentially Lara. I'd love there to be an opening cutscene where it shows her training with them and she is not quite there, maybe missing an aim or not absorbing recoil. However I'm not sure how it would with the new combat system. That end scene looked so awkward with her duel-wielding!
3. I'd love the melee to evolve. I think this is where Lara could really grow as a character.

I would love to see Lara with both the bow and the dual pistols, but as you said, I feel the dual pistols won't work as well if it's the same combat controls as the previous game. However I would still love to see Lara with both, the bow was a very nice weapon to use in Tomb Raider and the dual pistols of course are iconic to her character.

i WANT the dual pistols to be in the game, BUT i personally really got attached to the bow as a weapon..
The mechanics behind the dual pistols worked well in the original cos it was locked on auto aim and no ammo.. removing the auto aim and having restricted ammo would make them actually quite unwieldy to begin with.

Exactly why I'm very iffy about them bringing the dual pistols back. If they controlled like they did in the Mathias QTE I'd end up never using them xD

I'm torn because I love the dual pistols, and I love the bow -- if its possible for Lara to use both in the next game, I would be so happy. The pistols are Lara's trademark, although, it seems like for the reboot, she is quite the archer (there is the sisters of artemis -- was that a club Lara had been a member of in the backstory?)
I was so excited when Lara found the pistols in TR9... it was almost emotional!

To me, you really can't have a Tomb Raider game without having the dual pistols. Plus, they've always been the highlight for me in Lara's adventures. The bow is nice but now that Lara is off the island, it wouldn't make much sense to have it. They are other ways to take enemies out stealthy than with just a bow.

Dual pistols, of course; but definitely have the bow as a secondary weapon.

^ This! I love the dual pistols, but I really loved the bow too. And with the current combat mechanics (i.e., free aim), wielding dual pistols would become quite troublesome, and not nearly as fun as it was on the previous games.

Sorry, but they need to abandon this "Cry Baby Weak" little girl version of Lara and make her the same lara we grew to know and love. This is simply not lara croft anymore. It felt like Crystal simply used the name "Lara Croft" on this woman as a selling point to call it a "Reboot".
Shes More like "Lara Soft".
Dual Pistols is what she needs.

I would love to see the Dual Pistols return as her primary weapon during the game, though I suspect she will still find reasons to use the Bow from time to time. Sometimes, it is easier to take the stealthy approach, and she seems to be quite skillful with it now. If anything, I think we should be allowed to switch between the two weapons at will. Why choose one when you can have both? Let us choose whether we wish to go in guns blazing, or take the sneakier, silent approach.
To summarize, I want them both back. I'm not sure how they would make it work, but I think that would make for a better game.

Its not lara without dual pistols.

Cameron, you see to have forgotten the fact that TR 2013 was a reboot of the series, therefore yes, it can be Lara Croft without dual pistols. This is a new Lara, not the old one. If they want the bow to be this new Lara's signature weapon, well, they can make it Lara's signature weapon. I love the old games as much as you lads do, but you've gotta stop clinging to the past, because it's past, and it'll not come back. As for the point of Lara being "soft", well, it's her first freaking adventure. This is Lara before she was "the" Lara, and once again, this is a freaking reboot, so this Lara doesn't need to be as tough as the old one. Gosh.

It was so hard for me to choose one option! I LOVED the bow in TR2013. I liked the gameplay mechanics for it BUT, Lara's Dual Pistols are just so iconic I had to vote for them I would be great, as mentioned above if you could use both in ROTTR! That would be so sweet

I didn't forget its a reboot. I'm not an idiot who thinks she had plastic surgery and vocal cord surgery. I still hate the new Lara, and always will. Its not Lara, this game feels nothing like "Tomb Raider" and makes me consider it the "Skylanders" of the series. (Spyro fans would get this. Skylanders was the "Bad" reboot of the series)
