Oh I do think some of it was a PR stunt. Look how it was trending last night. We did what they wanted to happen. That is the problem with social media unfortunately.
However, the fact of the matter remains that a contract still exists; it was agreed upon by bigwigs and 2/3 of TR fans will miss out on launch.
I'm kinda glad Meagan left CD when she did, too nice of woman and fan to be putting up with these decisions.

I think this "deal" is nothing more than Xbox trying have a game to compete with SONY and Uncharted 4 during the holiday 2015 season.
I am very happy that this exclusive has a duration, as that means that PC and PS4 gamers will be able to get to play Rise at some point. Hopefully, this "timed exclusive" duration will end 6-9 months after release, although honestly I have no idea how long it will be. My guess is once Uncharted 4 has had it's time in the sun, Tomb Raider will finally be able to go multiplatform. Or at the very least, we will get a "definitive edition" for PC and PS4.
I am a little disappointed that the game will be on the 360, as it means it will not be a true next gen only game. But I guess that means I won't have to buy a Xbox one in order to play it. I suspect that the 360 will definitely start to show it's age by 2015, though.
It wouldn't surprise me if this has all been one massive PR stunt. If it was a PR stunt, it has failed miserably. Instead of people becoming hyped up even more about the game, we have been left dazed, confused, and furious.

Quick question, if a PS4/PC version is released; would you buy it new, pre-owned or not at all? I've seen many people say that they would buy it used out of principle. However for me once/if we get a ps4 release I'd rather buy it new because I do still want the franchise to continue and I want to show that there is a clear demand for PS4/PC. Maybe I am just by myself thinking like that, I don't know!

Maybe I am just by myself thinking like that, I don't know! You are not alone. If a PC version is released, I will buy it new. If we buy the game on the PC/PS4, it sends a message to Crystal Dynamics and Microsoft where the real fans reside. It also might keep them from doing these exclusive "deals" in the future.

I understand completely where you both are coming from but to be honest I'm just really disenchanted with the series now! I just can't get excited about a game that's going to get completely spoilt by Xbox players before I have the chance to get my hands on it! That and I'm reluctant to give money to CD for treating their fans like crap, but we'll just have to see. CD really have to pull a lot of good stuff out of the bag for me to change my mind about how I feel about this game!

I feel the same Laurie! I mean, I'll buy it and love it; no doubt - but I'm in no way loyal to them anymore!

Crystal have proven time and time again that they don't listen to the fans, it's all about the money and this whole situation is definitely the final nail in the coffin for me.
I was never a fan of the first three games that Crystal put out, but I gave them a chance with the Reboot, which was good but still not Tomb Raider... and now their ego has got the better of them and they think they can directly take on Uncharted by being exclusive to XBox and ignore the rest of their fanbase...
I'm not a nasty person, and I love TR (although I think the real TR died years ago), but I actually look forward to the day that Crystal really regret this stupid decision!

They will regret it, pretty sure of that. (As a slight tangent, I hope all this ROTTR stuff hasn't made you want to give up the SR community and forum here )

No never! I'm still a TR fan, just disenchanted with future releases. My love for the classics is too strong for Crystal to ruin that for me!

Hi guys I've fallen out of the TR loop recently, but have started to catch up again. I have just been having a read of the TR facebook page, and its interesting how people are still voicing their feelings about the way the next game's availability has been (and still is being) handled. I feel a bit better about myself now because I'm still really annoyed about it, but was getting a bit concerned that I was perhaps taking it too much to heart! Its good to know everyone is still telling the powers that be how much of a rough deal this is!
