Hi everyone. Lori told me about this forum so I thought I'd drop by and say hello. I'm the blogger responsible for the Archaeology of Tomb Raider blog and a long-time TR fan. I was 16 when the first game came out so I'm probably one of the older fans on this board... My name's Kelly. I'm originally from Gibraltar but I now live in the Netherlands with my Dutch fiancé. I'm not an archaeologist (I wish) but I'm passionate about ancient cultures and languages and am a member of my local archery club (I own a Hungarian horse bow and have also used an English longbow on several occasions). That's all from me for now. I'll be stopping by as often as I can and I look forward to getting to know some of my fellow TR fans.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. Jay - Always good to meet other 30-something gamers. Most people my age gave up on video games in their 20s. Their loss, I say.. Lori - If you can, see if you can find a beginners course in your area. It's a great sport, especially if, like me, you hate the gym. Vinegaress - Thanks! I really appreciate any feedback at this stage as the blog's only a few weeks old. At the moment, I have more ideas for articles than time to write them... o_0

Your articles are very inspirational and interesting to read, and I totally understand your problem with the whole time constraint issue. I struggle a lot with it myself to find the time to do some history or archeology buffing. If you don't mind my asking, what are your next projects? Or do you not want to say just yet?

Can't believe I missed this... *hangs head in shame* I *was* planning to write a series about female archaeologists in history but someone launched a Tumblr blog on that very subject before I finished researching my first piece. If I go ahead with my original plan, it may look like I'm copying someone else's idea. So I'll need to rethink that one. ;-) Most of my other ideas include lists of educational resources (mostly free, online ones) and some other ideas that I'd like to keep secret for now. ^_^

I wouldn't worry about someone doing a similiar idea, because as they say, nothing new is under the sun. Plus you would do it differently anyways, at least I can see it that way considering what a great writer you are.

I've given it some thought and will be taking a slightly different approach once I have the time. ;-)
