Now that we've had the reboot and it has been a success and well received by classic fans and new fans alike, now we can start discussing what we think the next game is going to be about! Obviously there must be some clues and nods in the reboot that point towards the next one, as Rhianna Pratchett has herself given the "no comment" comment in interviews when asked about hints that have been made in the game about its sequel (apologies I don't have links to those at hand!) One thing that has been mentioned a lot amongst fans is the mention of the word Croatoan... what does it all mean?!?! Here's a very interesting article that might help enlighten you as to what the word is referring to, and as to where Lara could be heading on her next adventure... anilbalan.com/2011/10/17/the-croatoan-mystery/What do you guys think?

I've heard of this and the story of the lost Roanoake Colony is very fascinating stuff. I love the idea already but I can see someone complaining about it possibly taking place in the United States. Lara's allowed to travel people, sheesh.

I don't really give a care about where the game takes place, as long as it makes sense and isn't some overused concept. Don't know why anyone would flack the idea of Croatoan just because it takes place in the US. She's not going to Rodeo Drive - she'd be heading off to a mysterious site that would make for a very intriguing setting.
I am certain that I have heard of Croatoan before the game referenced it, but I can't remember where. It might have been mentioned in a US history class, maybe.

It's not like Lara hasn't headed off to the US before now, Area 51 was a lot more far fetched than Croatoan.

What I meant by that, is people complain when the US gets involved for whatever reasons. I don't know if it's a hate for the US or a resentment, but I do know people have had a problem with Lara and American related things.
I really hope that she will go to the US, because there are places she can go that can lead to other places. Personally, I believe the story of the Roanoke colony happened when Indians gt the people, but the fact that it pops out at other random places and there was no record of them at all, is what make the mystery even more confusing.

I think people exoticises TR a lot in regard to where Lara travels to. You expect her to literally, go this distance. Like in Legend, ooh Peru! Boliva! Yay Tokyo! Kazakhstan!....Cornwall? Even Lara herself couldn't believe it "As in take the M5 to the A30 Cornwall?" Plus I think there was always the fear that the switch from Core to CD would mean a more American Lara.

I have faith again in the TR series so wherever Crystal decide to send Lara, I'm fine with it. All I need from the next TR is for the balance to shift from combat back to puzzles and some dual pistol action and I'm good to go.

Plus I think there was always the fear that the switch from Core to CD would mean a more American Lara. I think this is the biggest issue to be fair, not her having adventures in the states... It's like now Americans have creative control over her, she no longer needs to be British or something...?! But yeah I doubt that would ever be an issue with crystal myself, and as long as there's tombs with puzzles and less combat, then there shouldn't be a problem...

i think the combat was well balanced and was a big step compared to previous games...for the sequel i'd love more stealth combat and not excessive gunfights....and when it comes to the tombs i can understand the reason why they were sort of ''optional''....the whole story was about survival and not tomb raiding...they tried to establish her as a character on this game and it's obvious that in her next adventure she will almost be a tomb raider so i dont worry about exploring ancient civilizations either...
