So today TR9 is one year old, I personally cannot believe that one year has passed so quickly!
What I want to ask is, has your opinion on the game changed? Do you look back on it more fondly or has other games made you recognise flaws? Are you still excited for the next installment and what do you think will be TR relevant a year from now (lets face it, it'll be gone in a flash again!).

I still love the game when it comes to gameplay, the new combat is perfect, the camera is the best I have ever seen in any game and a huge step up for Underworld. I just want more exploration, more tombs and puzzles and a better storywriter. The story was kinda the worst thing about the game..way too predictable.

I can't believe it has been a year either! Where has that time gone?!
Personally, I don't think my view of the game has changed that much. I still think there was too much combat and not enough Tomb Raiding and I was never fond of the story line with Sam and Lara's parents etc.
I think now though these things tend to irritate that little bit more, as when the game first came out, I was too excited to play it and had those rose tinted glasses on that I get with every TR game that gets launched.
Still, I love the game and am able to pick it up again and play it, which I find very hard to do with the other Crystal TR games

TR9 is one year old? Wow, how time flies.
I picked up my copy on 3/5/2013. I have played through the game many times since then, and I achieved 100% completion on 2/21/2014. My option of the game is not changed. I still absolutely love it. I enjoy the gameplay, the combat, the camera. This is one of the few games that I played to 100% completion. If anything, it is hard to play the LAU trilogy right after playing TR9, as the controls are a huge step up from Underworld.
With that said, I do wish they had included more tombs to explore, and focused a little less on combat. I would say something about Lara's parents, but it looks like that will not be the main thing Lara is searching for, so I'm not going to worry about it.
I am VERY excited for the next installment. My guess is that one year from now, we will all be talking about TR "X", or making plans for Tomb Raider's 20th anniversary. :3

Do you look back on it more fondly or has other games made you recognise flaws? Are you still excited for the next installment and what do you think will be TR relevant a year from now (lets face it, it'll be gone in a flash again!). When i heard that crystal dynamics and Eidos were bringing out a new Tomb Raider game out on all game consoles, i was over the moon. I couldnt wait for it's release. The Game has brought me so much anticipation that when i got home, my eyes were glued to the TV Screen. Since then My love for Lara and her Tomb Raiding skills has further broaden my knowledge of her. Now a year later, she has come a long way, a very long way. W e have seen Lara at her best, her worst and at her most memorable moments, but in this installment; we have seen her survive the harsh elements and the wilderness but most of all she's had to rely on her wits and instincts in order to survive the evils that lurk in the shadows. That was the best thing about the new Lara one year on, she's grittier, she hasn't fully evolved into what she will become a legend, but in time with her new found skills she will become the legend she will be... In this installment she younger as we dive back into her past. This is Lara that we have never seen her before. Overall I was amazed by the detail and graphics that have gone into the game and the storyline / plot is just outstanding. I must admit, i was worried that the game wouldn't live up to it's predecessors ( Anniversary, legend and underworld) but it surely has. it has caught my attention into seeing Lara in a whole new and different light. As a Tomb Raider enthusiast and fanatic, i am very impressed at how well this game has done in the last year. This has to be one of best games since the Trilogy came out in 2012. I haven't seen any glitches or problems with the game , just pure enjoyment. Continue on with the good work Crystal Dynamic, Eidos and Square Enix, Bring on the next installment of this awesome series.

I can hardly believe its been a year since I took a few days off work so that I could play TR! I feel very fond about the game, after all this time it is still stuck in my head. I loved seeing a different side to Lara. There were a lot of elements to the gameplay side of things that reminded me of other games I've played (non TR), and in the next game I would like to see some more 'classic' tomb raider things like more puzzles and challenging levels. I enjoyed the combat, though a little less so the quick time events (mainly because I was so terrible at them!) I have really enjoyed seeing Lara show her vulnerable side, and I want more of that! And, this game spurred me on to take archery lessons!!!

Wow! A year already? Where did that go? It was technically not a year for me, as I got the game a week before it came out (thanks to K-Mart bringing it out earlier than Square told them to, bloody K-Mart ) but wow. The game still feels very brand new to me and I was very impressed about how much hard work was put into it. I'm still replaying it now it and will probably still replay it when I get a PS4 and the Definitive Edition!

I think I got my pre-order for the Xbox 360 early for once, played it a couple of times, then played the PS3 version a few times, it was fun, one annoying little flag thing had me hunting for ages, and then I went back to playing Skyrim. Have not really thought about the game since then. It was the most fun I ever had playing a Tomb Raider game, had a fair few nostalgic moments, but I am not into multiplayer and there really was nothing in there to keep me playing longer. Attempting to get frustrating achievements is only going to keep be playing a bit longer before I just give up and go play something else, I am really not that fussed if I get them or not. In a few years time I will dust it off and check if I got all the single player trophies and achievements and play it again.
The fun with the fighting choices is what got me to replay the game a fair few times, for the first time ever fighting was actually fun. And once I finished the game and went and checked on the achievements, I did have a bit of fun trying to get them all. I played the Uncharted 2 multiplayer and got addicted to it, but just never took to the Tomb Raider one, so the game was just a short thrill ride. I think these days I prefer games than can keep my attention a lot longer.

It's been an entire year. I don't know whether to feel shocked or old at this point. Time just seems to fly by. When the game was first announced I was leaning towards disliking the idea. But the more I read and learned what the reboot was about, I began liking it. By the time it was in my hands, I fell in love with it not even an hour into it. I do remember spending about an hour and fifteen minutes just exploring the first area (Coastal Forest). After finishing the game, I replayed it once or twice and then let it just sit there. Recently, I got the hankering to play it again and I have been and this time, in massive depth and as I play it, I realize what I love it so much. It's an immersive world that never does the same thing twice, that never gives you the same environment more than once. It keeps you guessing, keeps you exploring and makes you really pay attention to the story, the collectables, it's all very fascinating. I'm even playing it right now! Were there a couple things that could of been changed within the reboot? A bit but all in all, as someone who is usually pessimistic, I even have a hard time finding something wrong with the game. I'll even replay it after I play it through 100% again.
