So some of you may have heard the rumour that the name for the next Tomb Raider game has been leaked after a photo was taken on a laptop on public transport in Montreal. Kotaku has since published an article confirming this is the case, but until we have official confirmation from Square or Crystal we can't really take this as fact. What do you guys think of the name if it is official? Also, what are your thoughts on the rumour that it's not Crystal developing the game, but Eidos Montreal, the developers of Deus Ex?

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" ripped off Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade for story, and Nolan's final Batman film's title. "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" is terribly corny, uninspired, and - sadly - accurate in that Lara really is a shadow of her former self. Let's hope that the rumour mill has got this one wrong, and the next game actually dares to be original. Speaking of rumour mill... beg pardon?! Eidos Montreal were partly co-behind the last few games, weren't they? (or was I reading the credits wrong). If THIS is true, then I'm a happy bunny.

Well damn, it's been right under our nose the entire time. But seriously, that name leaves a lot to be desired. Sure, ' A rose by any other name..' for lack of a better metaphor (RISE would've been exactly the same game had it been called 'Snowy Icy Tomb Raider') so a name isn't much to judge by. But for now, it's all we've got - so here we go: Is it referring to an adversary? Trinity? That they're shadowing her wherever she goes? Heck, even Lara's Shadow the doppelganger. My initial thought on that being that they wouldn't bring that idea back again, but it certainly wouldn't be the first story element they've rehashed in this new trilogy (Parents, Lara's motivation). In terms of wording, 'Rise' already gave the impression she was on her way to being 'The Tomb Raider' or even that she was 'becoming who she was born to be' etc. Now 'Shadow' implying that she's a Shadow of her former self? A Shadow of her true self? It seems like a step back after Rise. Unfortunately if that's the case, then it reeks of 'she's on her way to being good old Lara!' and I fear that's a downright fib. It's been 10 years. I think it's safe to say that good old Lara can't come back without another reboot to wipe the slate clean, because this current incarnation of Lara simply can't become old-school Lara. So with that in mind, the title seems like an empty stepping stone, leading us on a potential endless wild goose chase for the illusive 'Tomb Raider'. Coming soon: Nearly There of the Tomb Raider Almost of the Tomb Raider We're So Close Now of the Tomb Raider The Fine Line of the Tomb Raider Ballpark of the Tomb Raider Not Far From the Tomb Raider ...

LMAO Chris! xD
It's true, though. This reboot has sailed so far away from its roots that it really needs to be considered an entirely separate entity (that just happens to feature a protagonist named Lara Croft). To 'go back' and rediscover its strengths and true identity, the franchise would need to wipe the slate clean yet again.
BRING BACK MURTI SCHOFIELD, DAMMIT!
BTW, You forgot the more kid-friendly version: "Are We There Yet? Tomb Raider"

Honestly I will take anyone over Crystal at this point as its obvious they just don't get TR, they are better off making interactive stories since thats what they are aiming for xD. Hoping the name is placeholder since...ew just ew xD

Does anyone know if the rumored title has been changed? I noticed something when Crystal sent out that little message to the players. If you take the first letter of each sentence and put it together, it makes SHADOW.
