1.0 - Official Proboards Terms of Service are here. These cover pretty much everything, but here are our own additions
1.1 - Registration to tombraider.boards.net is free! but we do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. If you agree to the terms and wish to join our community, by registering you are accepting these terms and conditions. You are free to browse our forum without registration.
1.2 - Although the administrators and moderators of tombraider.boards.net will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of tombraider.boards.net, nor Proboards will be held responsible for the content of any message.
1.3 - By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are offensive, derogatory, obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws. tombraider.boards.net is essentially a video-game forum with content geared to the video-games industry, in particular the Tomb Raider games. Our forum is predominately populated by older members however we may get younger viewers/members, and we therefore request members post respectfully and responsibly.
1.4 - One individual human being is permitted to register one single account on our forums. Members who register additional accounts will have all accounts disabled.
1.5 - Connections made via anonymous proxies are not permitted.
Privacy Statement
2.1 - In order to gain membership to tombraider.boards.net, we require a valid email address and a valid date of birth. We record this email address to your member profile, along with your IP address at time of registration. We require you to enter your date of birth to determine whether or not you are younger than 13 years of age. We record your IP address each time you browse or post on our forum. For registered members, we offer the option of storing a "cookie" on your computer to remain logged in.
2.2 - Additional information may be volunteered, such as Biography, Location, Interests and Occupation, but this information is not required. You can control what information is displayed about you under Profile Privacy.
2.3 - Information (such as email address, IP address, Date of Birth) is kept confidential, and measures are in place to prevent access to, misuse and dissemination of the information we hold about you by unauthorised personnel.
2.4 - You may request your member account be disabled. You may also request personal information be removed from your Profile. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing.
Opting Out Of Communication
3.1 - You may opt out of receiving communications from us by selecting the appropriate option in your Profile.
Age Restriction
4.1 - We do not accept registrations from individuals under the age of 13. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Posting Links / Advertisements
5.1 - Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on tombraider.boards.net. Please also note that this message board is not an FFA Links Site. One-post-wonders wanting solely to advertise their web site or products will have their membership cancelled and their posts removed.
5.2 - While we welcome the broadcasting of additional and relevant resources, we will not tolerate blatant web site advertising. Such posts we deem fall into this category will be removed and appropriate action taken. Site owners who contribute to our community appropriately are more than welcome to link to their web site and/or additional resources on tombraider.boards.net in our General Board Forum, with advance persmission and within reason.
5.3 - Members, when posting weblinks, must use common sense that the content behind the link, where possible, is also in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. Any links to porn sites, or sites of dodgy content will be removed and the users account disabled.
5.4 - When referencing products or services on our forum, members are advised to link to the front page of any online store and not the product page. This avoids the risk of referral links being inadvertently posted on our forum.
Censoring
6.1 - Our software automatically censors explicit or offensive words. Please do not attempt to circumvent our censor. All inquiries may be directed to staff via our PM system.
Spam Policy
7.1 - tombraider.boards.net operates a strict no-spam policy. Members spamming our forum with frivolous and/or duplicate posts will have their posts removed and their membership revoked for a specified period of time. Persistent offenders will have their membership cancelled.
7.2 - This forum has features which enable members to both edit their own posts in order to add commentary, and to quote multiple posts in one reply. Failure to make use of these features by persistent double (or more) posting, that is, posting multiple times in a single thread without another member doing so in the meantime, may be deemed as spamming.
7.3 - In order to combat spam, we no longer accept connections via anonymous proxy.
Copyright Policy
8.1 - Please do not post material you do not own without the permission of the author. By posting material on our forum, you are agreeing that you either own the item you are posting and/or have permission to post the item. Please do not post illegal material on our forum, or material which contravenes international piracy laws.
Free Media Policy
9.1 - Our free media policy applies to all forms of copyright-exempt digital media. Non-exclusive, copyright-exempt media doctored and posted and/or referenced on our forum for the purpose of web site promotion will be removed, and those responsible reprimanded.
Signatures and Avatars
10.1 - 'Signatures' contain information that you want to include at the bottom of all your posts. They must be text-based, one line and no more than 80 characters in length. No links or URLs are permitted. Images/Gifs are permitted but must not be offensive or oversized.
10.2 'Avatars' are small images that people use to identify or distinguish themselves from other forum members. Avatars appear under your Member Name on all posts made on our forum. The site has a great Avatar creation tool, and allows you to upload your own image, however like signatures these must NOT be offensive.
