absolutely love it Thank you kindly, Jay! Ironically, I was in a super bad art-block for quite some time and yet, when I did the piece of Lara above, it's helped fade it out a lot. Goes to show, Lara is the best!

In honor of Lara and Tomb Raider's 20th anniversary, I decided to try and work on the throne piece with Lara with colors and paint and while this is a very rough draft of it, this is kinda how it might turn out. (Please forgive the sketchiness).

The piece is all done. Posted in on my Facebook, but not everyone here has Facebook so here she is, all finished! My dearest love in all the world has been around for 20 years. While it doesn't seem like just yesterday she first graced me with her presence, it doesn't seem an amount of twenty years. Lara and her adventures have had a huge hand in my life. My love for learning was help driven by Lara's knack for curiosity. My massive interest in mythology, metaphysics and ancient history was inspired by all the exploring Lara has delved into her journeys. Lara's attitude, appearance, and style helped make my love for pin-ups and for artwork the way it is today. Her resolve is what showed me that I could do anything - that I didn't have to live in a box; That I can do great things.
If my personal accomplishments thanks to Lara weren't enough, her badass paved the way for female protagonists in video-games and in media. Women could be sexy and strong at the same time for the first time. Her adventures made developers and publishers think of gaming worlds in a whole new light, with open-world exploration as well as third-person, three-dimensional characters with intricate stories. Tomb Raider can brush of it's shoulders for helping the gaming console of Sony's Playstation's success.
So in honor of her complete badassry, I made sure to pay her homage with the 20 year celebration as what she is - the queen of all gaming. This painting was very dear and close to my heart so I was extremely nit-picky with myself but I think that for this piece, that helped it to be what it is.

My newest 'Lara' piece. I've been re-watching the Jurassic Park series and while I don't really know what correlation that has to do with Lara or Indiana Jones for that matter, it came to me that I should do another drawing of a cross-over of Indy and Lara, or more like Lara looking similar to Indy. Maybe it's the dinosaur and adventure thing? I dunno. But anywhoo, here's what I've been cooking up during the movies - Lara pushing her hair under Indy's hat while looking fabulous doing it.

I've posted this to Facebook but as I've said before, not everyone has FB or probably never heard of my FB Community page, so without further ado, here's my recent Lara drawing along with the colored/painted version of it. Hope you all like! Click the images for a larger version. (Such cute, little shits... lol.) And the lineart itself on how it all started:

Not really fit to post considering I do a billion Lara sketches all the time, but I couldn't get "over my dead body" out of my head before I went to bed tonight so I was like, **** it, I'll just do it and get the bugger out. Sorry for it's real roughness.

Why apologise? Rough is good now and then ;-) And Lara is one rough an' tough lass! Even with simple work you can capture her attitude - it's the eyes, I think. Sweet!

This sketch work is beautiful! I think it looks perfect as is! As Jenn says, Lara's rough and tough and I think the picture amplifies that!

Lol, I was favouriting this over on DeviantArt before I saw you'd uploaded it here. For some reason now it's coloured/shaded her bosom looks slightly peculiar - or is it just me? But the colours and the glint on her glasses works very well!

But the colours and the glint on her glasses works very well! So sorry for just now responding. The reason her beautiful lady tissues look different is become I made them bigger than the original, and plus, it was super quick, I wasn't looking for proper anatomy, I'm afraid. But who doesn't love Lara's bewbs? I know I do.

In order to celebrate for Rise of the Tomb Raider's upcoming big release for the PS4 (finally!), I did two variant cover pieces - One with Lara in her Rise outfit. The other, a mashup of classic and reboot Lara. Colors/paints will be added relatively soon. But for now, enjoy!
